Chris Spear

American Trucking Associations - President and cEO


Chris Spear is president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations, the nation’s leading organization representing the interests of the trucking industry.  Chris leads ATA’s efforts to advocate and educate on behalf of the trucking industry.


Prior to his time at ATA, Chris has deep background and experience in the transportation, energy, labor and technology sectors over five different continents.


Chris came to ATA from Hyundai Motor Co., where he served as vice president of government affairs. In that role he served on the Executive Committee for Global Automakers. Previously, Chris was ATA senior vice president of legislative affairs and worked for Honeywell Process Solutions.


Chris has extensive experience in the federal government, serving as deputy representative for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, assistant secretary of labor for policy and as professional staff in the U.S. Senate.


Chris is on the board of directors for the University of Wyoming's Center for Global Studies, has been awarded the US Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Medal and Honeywell’s Premier Achievement Award. As President and CEO of ATA, Chris also serves as an Association Member on the Northwestern University Transportation Center Business Advisory Council and on the American Transportation Research Institute’s Board of Directors.


Chris holds a master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming.


Steve Nedvidek

Chick-fil-a - innovation specialist

Steve Nedvidek joined Chick-fil-A in October of 1988 and has worked in a variety of roles through the years including film and video producer, marketing consultant and program manager, Retail Licensing and Creative Services. In his current role, Steve serves as an Innovation Specialist who teaches, coaches and facilitates sessions that help staff members solve tough business problems.


Steve graduated from Wingate University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and from Wake Forest University in 1987 with a Master of Arts in theatre. Steve has worked in the fields of radio, television and art direction.


He serves on the Board of Directors at the Theatrical Outfit in Atlanta and on the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Council at Wake Forest University

Cooper Gunby

Cooper Gunby is a natural born entertainer who has shared his own brand of humor to over 100 different groups of all kinds.  His experiences include entertaining for the Dealership Award Program sponsored by John Deere in San Antonio, Texas, the Sinners Anonymous program at First Presbyterian in Anderson, South Carolina, Clemson Chamber of Commerce, Augusta, Greenville and Anderson Georgia Bulldog Touchdown Clubs, University of Georgia Football Letterman’s Association, the annual meeting of the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia, Michelin Credit Union annual meeting in Greenville, South Carolina, Cattleman’s Associations, Rotary Clubs and many church and civic groups.

Cooper is a native of Georgia, a football letterman and graduate of the University of Georgia and is in Business Development at Two State in Thomson Georgia where they move machinery of all types worldwide.


Steven Murphy

Moore Colson, CPAs and Advisors - partner

is a Partner in Moore Colson’s Tax Services Practice. Steven works with the coordination of tax services for clients, planning and organizing engagements, managing the progress of work, maintaining and expanding good client relations, suggesting and implementing tax planning ideas, performing research, and supervising staff.

Steven’s professional background in public accounting, along with his strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills, complement Moore Colson’s already diversified tax team. With expertise in federal and state tax planning, Steven’s successful business background includes serving clients in the transportation, retail, manufacturing, and technology industries.

Steven started his professional career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. He then spent two years with Deloitte & Touche LLC, and most recently worked as a Tax Manager with closely held clients at a local firm before joining Moore Colson in 2007.

Vigillo, LLC - Founder & president

A veteran technology leader, Steve is the Founder and President of Vigillo LLC. Founded in 2007 Vigillo employs a team of data scientists and software engineers specializing in the Big Data that flows from hundreds of sources within the commercial transportation and logistics industry. 

Steve and his assembled team bring over 200 years' experience in the areas of statistics, software development, risk management, and compliance. Steve has combined his legal and business experience to lead five previous software start-ups and emerging companies to success. He has also worked as a District Manager for Dow Jones & Co., and served for six years in the U.S. Army (Maintenance Sergeant). Steve holds an M.B.A./J.D. and received a B.S. in Economics from Willamette University.



Mark Stroman

Aon Hewitt Consulting - Senior Vice president

Mark Stroman is a Senior Vice President of Aon Hewitt Consulting and currently serves as National Sales Leader for the Middle Market segment for Health & Benefits and Co-Leader of the Middle Market Health & Benefits Practice.  Mark has held prior leadership positions with the firm as the Atlanta Market Leader for all Aon Hewitt Consulting Services , Atlanta Practice Leader for the Health & Benefits division, and Health & Benefits Sales Leader for the Atlanta market.


Mark specializes in strategic plan design for health and welfare programs with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Aon Hewitt in 2007, he worked for a national employee benefits consulting firm where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for business development and practice leadership.


His experience includes consulting projects for some of the nation's largest Fortune 500 companies as well as major domestic and international government entities leading health and welfare strategic initiatives.  In the past he has been a featured speaker throughout the Southeast on health care issues and has been quoted most recently in local and national publications on the topics of "Consumer Driven Healthcare" and overall health care trends.


Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Management Science from Clemson University. He is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) through a partnership with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Rob Moseley

Smith Moore Leatherwood - Partner, Transportation and Logistics Industry Leader

Rob Moseley is the head of Smith, Moore and Leatherwood’s  Transportation Industry Group representing trucking companies, brokers and logistics companies (and their insurance carriers), with disputes involving commercial transportation accidents, federal & state safety regulations, commercial insurance coverage disputes, freight claims, and other disputes involving trucking companies. He has tried over 75 cases to jury verdict in federal & state courts of unlimited jurisdiction.


Rob is an expert in contract review and drafting, and has a well-earned reputation as an advisor who helps trucking companies proactively assess and address risk both internally and externally.  Mosely is also one of the leading experts on CSA and HOS issues and his breakout session will focus on those areas.
