CMV Inspector Qualification Seminar
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Part 396 requires that all commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) pass a periodic (annual) inspection. The inspection must be performed by a qualified individual as described in 396.19. This two-day training course is designed to assist maintenance personnel in the rules and requirements of the annual inspection. This program has been developed to meet the requirements of FMCSR 396.19 and is open to qualified maintenance personnel.
The Qualification Course Will Help You:
  • Understand the inspection criteria for required parts and accessories specified in 49 CFR 393 and the minimum periodic inspection standards specified in 49 CFR 396, Appendix G
  • Compare the North American Uniform Vehicle Inspection Procedures with the Federal regulations
  • Know the difference between the CVSA’s Out-of-Service-Criteria and the FHWA Annual Inspection requirements
  • Familiarize with the requirements and proper documentation for the annual inspection
  • Identify defective parts and the tools necessary to perform a safe and effective inspection
  • Learn a systematic inspection procedure and how to perform a safe and effective vehicle inspection
Course Participants Must:
  • Have prior basic knowledge of commercial motor vehicles and their components
  • Have at least one year of experience as a mechanic

If you have a company fleet your CSA score is affected by maintenance violations and/or lack of proper annual vehicle inspections.  Train your mechanics to do the annual inspections properly.

If you are a truck dealer or a repair facility give your customers the best service available, offer quality annual CMV inspections and increase your revenue.
