Don't Miss Our 2008 Truck Driving Championships May 8, 9,10th The GMTA Safety Management Council invites you to join us for the 2008 Georgia Truck Driving Championships being held at the Emerald Point Resort, Lake Lanier Islands, Georgia May 8th - 10th, 2008. We begin on Thursday with a golf tournament for the Rick Perkins Memorial Scholarship Fund and continue on Friday and Saturday with world-class professional drivers competing in eight classes. All participants are graded on their ability to assess safety defects in a pre-trip inspection, test their knowledge of the regulations in a thorough written exam, and apply their driving skills to a course guaranteed to challenge the best drivers. In addition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards, we recognize our Rookie of the Year, the Best Pre-Trip Inspection, Team Champions and the Georgia Grand Champion. All First-Place winners may be eligible to represent Georgia at the ATA National Championships.
